Light A Candle for Holocaust Memorial Day
Holocaust Memorial Day is a time for us to remember those who have suffered and lost their lives during the Holocaust and other atrocities. By lighting a candle you are showing your support at embracing diversity and dispelling the darkness that racism, oppression and ignorance can lead to. In this section on the HMD site you can find out about the Holocaust.
A candle image is available for download, so that it can be used in commemorative events to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2007.
Remember the late Henry Guterman MBE and Leon Greenman OBE — join us in saying NEVER AGAIN
Unite Against Fascism would like to remember the late Henry Guterman MBE and Leon Greenman OBE, Holocaust survivors who during their lifetimes campaigned tirelessly against fascism, raising awareness of the threat of fascism and the lesson of the Holocaust reminding us all to NEVER AGAIN allow the Nazis to gain power in society.
Both spoke at previous Unite Against Fascism national conference as well as addressing large and small events, teachings, seminars and rallies against the Nazi British National Party with UAF and Love Music Hate Racism.

Henry Guterman MBE addresses Unite Against Fascism 2007 National conference
Henry Guterman MBE, who had escaped the Holocaust as a child, was an active member of UAF Manchester. He spoke consistantly of how fast the Nazis destroyed all democracy after coming to power in 1933 and why we must oppose today's fascists. He said "The BNP have made gains simply by peddling racist lies — which must be challenged and exposed. The BNP attempts to portray itself as a legitimate political party when in fact they are a fascist organisation. In Nazi Germany fascism shut down democracy and led to the Holocaust — the annihilation of millions of Jewish people as well as Black, Lesbian and Gay, Disabled people, trade unionists and others. The BNP is a racist organisation which targets Muslims and Jews and all minority communities. These results are an insult to all those who perished under the Nazis. The decent majority of people must support democracy and see that this does not happen again."
